Beautifully Decorated Latin American/Mexican Ceramic Pitcher from the mid to late 20th C. It is Signed, actually initialed, M.M.A.. It is an Original Hand decorated piece of Mexican (we believe) pottery. It is decorated with a large bird with a long, slim beak and neck. The body and wings are decorated with red and brown linear and geometric-like designs. The mouth of the pitcher (or ewer) is a snakes head, with eyes on the side and the handle is rest of the body. The very end of the snake (tail) extends onto the body of the piece. The body is beige with a hint of gold and has a sandy/grainy texture. It is is Very Good condition. We could find no cracks or chips. There are minor signs of handling.
Pottery measures approx. 12" Tall, 9" W and 30" in Diameter (around).
Piece weighs 5 lbs., 14 oz., before packing.
